Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Jan Driving Academy! Our primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction by providing exceptional services, aiding all our learners in mastering driving skills efficiently. We've established a dependable network of proficient and reliable Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Approved driving instructors (ADI) who offer tailored, high-quality instruction. By enrolling in a driving course with Jan Driving Academy, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and comprehended the following terms and conditions, agreeing to adhere to them.

Agency Relationship: Jan Driving Academy acts as an agent connecting you with an ADI for driving lessons. While booking a course with Jan Driving Academy, you're entering a separate agreement for lessons directly with the DVSA ADI, who operates independently from Jan Driving Academy.

Definitions:

​

  • "You" refers to the individual identified on the booking form as the pupil.

  • "We" or "Us" denotes the self-employed DVSA Approved driving instructor (ADI).

  • "Jan Driving Academy" refers to the driving agent overseeing the driving course provision, test bookings, and ADI allocation.

  • "Instructor" signifies a DVSA Approved driving instructor (ADI) operating independently or on behalf of a driving agency.

 

Payment:

  • Upon booking, an initial deposit payment is required to Jan Driving Academy, which is non-refundable except under specific circumstances.

  • Full payment becomes due within 7 days of ADI allocation.

  • Failure to complete payment may result in course suspension and cancellation of lessons/tests.

  • Any refund issued will be made back to the original payment method.

Driving Lessons:

​

  • Learners must hold a valid UK provisional driving license and present it to the ADI at the first lesson.

  • Lessons must commence within six months of booking unless otherwise agreed.

  • Lesson scheduling, start times, and locations are arranged directly between you and the ADI.

  • Promptness for lessons is crucial; late arrival may result in lesson cancellation without refund or reduced lesson time.

  • Missed lessons may incur full tuition fees if not attended as agreed.

  • Lessons cannot be transferred or resold.

  • Learners must disclose any health issues affecting driving performance.

  • ADI discretion determines rescheduling or extension of lessons.

  • Any unused hours from your lessons package are non-refundable & non-transferable but may be used for additional tuition at ADI's discretion.

Theory/Practical Driving Tests:

​

  • Jan Driving Academy will endeavour to secure practical driving tests meeting your preferences.

  • Practical test timing is integrated into the course duration.

  • Test appointments must be attended as scheduled; failure to do so may incur additional charges.

  • ADI may decline test participation if the learner's driving doesn't meet required standards.

  • DVSA may make changes to test appointments due to various factors; candidates are responsible for checking and informing Jan Driving Academy accordingly.

Cancellation/Rearrangement:

​

  • Notice periods for lesson/test cancellations or rearrangements apply.

  • Failure to adhere to notice requirements may result in forfeiture of fees.

  • Additional fees may apply for test rearrangements.

Limitation of Liability:

​

  • Jan Driving Academy and ADI hold no liability for losses/damages beyond reasonable control.

  • Liability exclusion extends to business-related losses.

  • Disputes or claims arising from driving tuition should be directed to the ADI initially.

  • Jan Driving Academy does not guarantee specific test appointment timings or test outcomes.

Use of Personal Data:

​

  • Personal data handling complies with our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Your data may be used for test arrangements, including securing early test dates, lesson management, and communication purposes.

  • Jan Driving Academy may secure early test dates on your behalf. We have the authority to book, change, swap, or cancel tests to accommodate your needs. For further information about early test dates and our booking policies, please contact us.

  • If you prefer not to have your data used for this purpose, opt-out options are available upon request

Behaviour:

​

  • Jan Driving Academy maintains a zero-tolerance policy against abuse or violence toward staff or ADI.

  • Violation of behavioural standards may result in booking cancellation and fee retention.

​

These terms and conditions are subject to English law.
